Bethesda Youth Group meets every Sunday 6pm-8pm. Our schedule consists of an hour of games and an hour of worship, prayer and lessons. The goal of our meeting each week is to provide a safe, comfortable atmosphere to build friendship and community between the students while encouraging and teaching them about faith.
As Christians we are called to do more than meet once a week. We are called to be the hands and feet of Jesus and to seek justice, so we make serving a priority. This calling is fulfilled by the students through our summer missions trip, Chester, Pa food deliveries, 30 Hour Famine and other events.
If you’re a teen seeking an inviting community, looking to explore christianity, or want to make a difference in the world around you, the youth group at Bethesda UMC is the place to do it. Everyone is welcome, we look forward to seeing you!
This August the Youth Group will be going on a mission trip to Colcord, West Virginia. They will be working to restore homes and provide safe, functional living for those who cannot otherwise afford it. Over the last two years the youth that have gone on these
trips have gained the same passion for mission work that I have. Along with
construction skills, these trips offer a lesson in humility and selflessness that is difficult to learn otherwise. The students will be forced out of their comfort zones, learn to place others first and truly be the hands and feet of Jesus to those in need.
This trip is an opportunity for them to fulfill the command Jesus gave after setting an example of servitude; “Do as I have done to you (John 13:15)” You have made the last two mission trips possible and we are extremely grateful. As always, every dollar donated to the Youth Mission Trip fund goes directly towards making this trip possible. Thank you for your continued support.
